mightymouse and missybee

Instant messaging was a big part of how Adam and I started to get to know one another before we officially began dating.  We used to IM while we were sitting right next to each other at work or til the wee hours of the morning.  And very fortunately for me, some of the conversations were saved!  Here are a couple of exchanges from just before we started dating that cause me to smile uncontrollably.  Do you ever feel like your face just can't smile as big as you want it to?

This is our great friend, and fellow dispatcher, Christy sharing a conversation she had with Adam about me:

Krispie604: I made some stupid comment like "I thought you were dating someone" comment and he was like "you told me you had a friend you wanted to set me up with"
Krispie604: and I said "yeah, I prolly just watned to be a homewrecker."
Krispie604: and now he said, "so who is this friend...anyone I know?"
Krispie604: AHHHHHHHHHHHHH...waht shoudl I tell him
Krispie604: YOU ARE THAT FRIEND!!!!!
Krispie604: apparently Alisa told him that he should marry you
Krispie604: mightymouse334: u wanna hear my opinion of the whole situation??
Krispie604: love too.
mightymouse334: hmmmmm... how do i put this:/
mightymouse334: so ever since the 1st night i came in 4 training... i've been interested
mightymouse334: but i had been told she was my boss/supervisor whatever... and that kinda made things weird in my head
mightymouse334: so i said, no
Krispie604: yeah, I can totally udnerstand that
Krispie604: he said he would have asked you oout weeks ago.
missybee17: are you serious?
Krispie604: yes!!!!

And this is me and Adam, after Christy helped him understand I wasn't really his boss, and knowing Christy, sent him some of my comments about him:

mightymouse334: so i'm doin pretty swell right about now:-)
mightymouse334: how bout u??
missybee17: yeah, pretty good.  why you so swell?
mightymouse334: cuz i just got some great news from a friend!
mightymouse334: things are lookin up 4 me:-)
missybee17: well, im glad to hear that
missybee17: whats so great?
mightymouse334: life in general
mightymouse334: last couple days or week or so i'd been confuzled about some stuff
mightymouse334: but i was enlightened 2night, and things are happy
mightymouse334: the clouds have parted and the sun is shining through!
missybee17: wow, that is some awesome news!
mightymouse334: i'm not at liberty right now to reveal all the details... but it's def a happy/good thing:D
missybee17: ill take your word for it
mightymouse334: sounds like a plan stan;-)

After the first date:

Krispie604: mightymouse334: hey sis
Krispie604: how was your date?
Krispie604: :-)
mightymouse334: awesome!
mightymouse334: sorry... no m&ms though
Krispie604: LOL...its okay
Krispie604: will there be another chance?
mightymouse334: oh... i'd pretty much bet on it
Krispie604: she said it went well.
Krispie604: mightymouse334: u talked 2 mel and she said it went welll
mightymouse334: but... what else did she say??
Krispie604: she said it was so fun
Krispie604: mightymouse334: did she tell ya bout how we sat in a tree on msrh 4 like an hour?? and talked there 2?
Krispie604: NO!
Krispie604: taht is so cute!
Krispie604: I like taht idea.
mightymouse334: or about how she handed me this lil twig thing and told he i had 2 keep it...
mightymouse334: so i stuck it in my hair?
Krispie604: NO! that is cute too!
Krispie604: did you keep it?
mightymouse334: :-(
mightymouse334: it blew out of my hair on the walk back home

mightymouse334: it was pretty  much awesome
Krispie604: that is so adorable!
Krispie604: oh my goodness.
Krispie604: I am dying of cuteness
Krispie604: mightymouse334: so in the beginning... there was an interview
Krispie604: LOL
mightymouse334: and @ that pt i really don't remember having any feelings 4 her
mightymouse334: but that's prob b/c i was nervous and not really thinkin about anything
mightymouse334: then the next time i saw her was the mon night b4 i came in to start trainin 2 fill out a sched
mightymouse334: and i was totally like, man, this girl is amazingly beautiful...
Krispie604: mightymouse334: but i coulda sworn she had a big ol rock on her finger
Krispie604: taht is so cute!
Krispie604: LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
mightymouse334: (yes, i did totally check!)
Krispie604: mightymouse334: but then i came in on thurs (when we were supposed 2 have pizza)
mightymouse334: and i saw that there was no rock... and i got pretty xcited
mightymouse334: but then i got totally wierded out w/ the whole boss factor
mightymouse334: till mon... when u n i started talkin
mightymouse334: so all that 2 say... thanx christy!  u're pretty much the coolest big sis i've ever had... or prob ever could have:D

I still feel so bad about not having pizza that night when I told him we would!  Poor man, he was probably starving!

No woman who enjoys the favor of being loved by such a man can ever be truly unhappy.  My longing for his presence is physically painful at times.  Seven years ago I made the best decision I ever could or will make.  I was sealed to Adam for time and all eternity.  Happy Anniversary, my Love!

Zion

Editor's note:  I can't believe I let my history trail off and just end back then.  There's still so much to tell!  Let me begin.

A few weeks after we got married, we were invited to join Julie and Chris and their family in Zion National Park.  Chris had a work conference in Cedar City so they went down at the beginning of the week with Marmee and the kiddos and we joined them for the weekend.  I remember feeling very discouraged during the drive because I was in search of a new job.  We figured it wasn't ideal for two married people to be working at the same place.  We didn't want to have to work completely alternate hours from one another so the best solution was for me to find something new.  I hadn't had any success yet and was down on myself.  I started crying and tried to hide it from Adam by pretending to sleep.  Yeah, he saw right through me!  He had to stop the car so he could give me a hug and words of encouragement.  I am always amazed at how tender and loving he is.  I felt so much better by the time we got to Zion.

But Bradley did not.  He got sick that night and the next morning Julie and Marmee took him and Lindsey, with her broken arm, back to Provo, leaving me and Adam with Chris and Nathaniel to explore the park.  We had a blast!!!  We were of course sad to be without the others but the park was so beautiful!  We hiked to the Emerald Pools and saw ancient Native American rock drawings.  Even though Nathaniel was young he was a good little hiker and we got to do most of the trails.  Though I still have yet to try Angel's Landing.

It was incredibly hot during the day and super windy at night.  I remember thinking the tents were going to blow away with us in them!  But inside the canyons of the park it was perfect.  We had a wonderful time!

I wish I had more pictures from the trip.  Maybe I can get some from Julie...

I'd Rather Be Blue

Happy Fifth Anniversary, Adam My Love!

I can't believe it's been five whole years and I can't believe it's only been five years. You are the most amazing man I've ever met and I'm so proud to be able to say you are my husband. You have no idea, you crazy boy. I'm waiting as patiently as I can for the day I get to be with you again. I pray it is very soon.

I love you with all my heart and then some.

Reunion

One day, while Adam and I were engaged, I was meeting up with him on campus, in the parking lot by the HFAC and the WSC. I'm not sure if it was the first time we were meeting that day or not, but I"m sure it had been less than 24 hours since we had last seen each other.

Well, I was standing on the sidewalk, just by the entrance to the lot, near the crosswalk and I saw Adam coming from across the street. He waited for the signal to walk, and then he ran towards me through the crowd of pedestrians. When he got to me, he scooped me up in his arms and started spinning around, hugging me. While he was spinning, I noticed a couple of girls in a passing car pointing and smiling at us. Yeah, we make other people envious.

I like to think of this moment a lot, as it embodies so much of Adam for me: his overflowing and contagious enthusiasm and happiness, his sentimental and romantic sensibilities, not to mention his over-the-top love for me. The fact that he was so excited to see me after such a short separation only makes me that much more eager to see the reception I'll get when I finally do get to meet him again.

Personally, I can't wait.

Promise

I had a dream the other night that I was sitting in the temple, waiting for a sealing. Adam came and sat down beside me and this was no surprise to me. We sat there waiting with lots of other couples, but no one that we knew so it didn't seem to be a family wedding we were there for. Finally, I turned to Adam and asked him whose sealing we were there for. "Ours," he replied. 'But we've already been sealed," I reminded him. "There's another sealing we need to have," he explained.

When I woke up, I thought a lot about this, especially as it was the morning that I was going to Adam's brother Matt's wedding with his beautiful bride, my newest sister, Wendy. I remembered something I had learned in our Doctrine and Covenants class which made me think.

D&C 76:52 - 55

That by keeping the commandments they might be washed and cleansed from all their sins, and receive the Holy Spirit by the laying on of the hands of him who is ordained and sealed unto this power;

And who overcome by faith, and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, which the Father sheds forth upon all those who are just and true.

They are they who are the church of the Firstborn.

They are they into whose hands the Father has given all things—

If you were coming in the fall,
I'd brush the summer by
With half a smile and half a spurn,
As housewives do a fly.

If I could see you in a year,
I'd wind the months in balls,
And put them each in separate drawers,
Until their time befalls.

If only centuries delayed,
I'd count them on my hand,
Subtracting till my fingers dropped
Into Van Diemen's land.

If certain, when this life was out,
That yours and mine should be,
I'd toss it yonder like a rind,
And taste eternity.

But now, all ignorant of the length
Of time's uncertain wing,
It goads me, like the goblin bee,
That will not state its sting.

Honey, I need some... more wheels!

One day, towards the end of the summer of 2006, Adam came home to tell me he wanted a Volkswagen Beatle. He had been down to Springville and seen the coolest one ever. It even had a roof rack. Apparently, he had always wanted one and I had just never heard of it. This was strikingly similar to how he had always wanted a scooter, too. His taste in cars was uncannily similar to that of our brother-in-law, Chris, with whom Adam had become best friends.

Well, by this time we did own a Saturn station wagon which I drove to work and school, but with winter looming ahead of us, we decided Adam needed something other than the scooter for himself. So, he started shopping. The sweet bug in Springville being too expensive, he started looking online for deals. And boy did he find one!

There was a bug in Idaho that was available for a mere $500. Granted, it needed some cosmetic TLC, but Adam was more than willing to make it his new hobby. We discussed it and decided to give it a try. So, one afternoon, Adam and Chris drove up to Idaho to collect the bug, which was supposedly in perfect running order when they picked it up. By the time they towed it down to Provo, it had mysteriously ceased to work. Adam and Chris would spend the next several months taking the engine apart and putting it back together.

The best part about all of this was Adam's ridiculously happy attitude about it. I think if I had driven all that way to make such an important purchase, I would be furious to discover it was in such bad shape. But not Adam. He took it in stride, laughed about it, and set to learning how to fix the problems. He was disappointed, but he didn't let it spoil his fun. Thank goodness we just happen to have a VW expert in the family!

One day I came home from work to find filthy car parts on the floor of the shower, with mud and dirt splashed all around the bathroom. Adam was happily cleaning the engine as he disassembled it. He even made sure to clean up the bathroom when he was finished. He loved working on that car and learning how to repair it. I was and am grateful to have a husband who is willing to learn new things, to work hard for his family, and who keeps such a positive attitude about it. I'm also grateful for a brother-in-law who can rebuild a VW engine in his sleep. :)

Rebuilding the engine on Julie's kitchen counter.

He seems to be enjoying himself. Such a nerd. :)

I had to smile at this...

Alma 40:23

"The soul shall be restored to the body, and the body to the soul; yea, and every limb and joint shall be restored to its body; yea, even a hair of the head shall not be lost; but all things shall be restored to their proper and perfect frame."

Because I would be disappointed if I never saw that fro again. :)

A Story for Adam's Birthday

One summer evening, Adam and I decided it would be lots of fun to attend an outdoor showing of Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl. It was showing on campus on the quad near the testing center. We got there nice and early with our blanket and staked out a nice little spot in the midst of a huge crowd. And then we waited. And then we started to notice how we were surrounded by single college students who were only there to flirt. Silly us, we had come to actually watch the show!

After a half hour of trying to watch the movie, we realized we could go home and watch it from the comfort of our couch. We packed up our stuff, stopped by Chris and Julie's to borrow the DVD, and headed home, where we finished the movie snuggled up together on the sofa. It was much better this way.

Maybe this made us old married people. Well, we were okay with that. :)

Dad, do wishes really come true?

Only in my dreams."

& plays the trombone in the orchestra.
Sadly, I have just the tiniest crush
on him, but I'm sure he doesn't
reciprocate."

"First and most important, I have
the biggest crush on Adam Cox...
I just feel so happy around him that
I hate to leave.  I don't count the hours
at work anymore, I relish them."

Do you hear me talking to you
Across the water, across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my
Baby I'm trying

Boy I hear you in my dreams
Feel you whisper across the sea
Keep you with me, in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you, I promise you, I will

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again

Lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Happy Birthday to my Amazing Husband

Happy 26th Birthday, Adam my Love!  I am so grateful that I have you for my husband.  I love you so very much.  I can't even tell you how happy you make me.  Just the thought of who you are makes me giddy with joy.  I never imagined there could be someone as thoughtful, kind, sweet, considerate, handsome, righteous, romantic, fun, adorable, loving, good, protective, crazy, smart, nerdy, and hot as you are, who plays the trombone, to boot!  You are the best man I've ever met and I still think you're crazy for loving me back.  But I'm certainly not going to complain!  I hope you have a wonderful birthday, my Love.  I'll be enjoying some awesome goodies on your behalf.  I hope I got the right kind of gummy bears!  I love you forever!

Well, I guess these gummy bears will do...

I had a Devil of a time finding a suitable basket...

This might be a little out of order but I get my dates mixed up a lot and I just want to talk about this tonight.  This is one of the many, many reasons I love and adore Adam Ross Cox.

One Thursday afternoon I accompanied Julie and the kids to the splash pool just down the road from her house.  I had gotten off work at noon but Adam had to stay until 5 pm.  When he got off duty he came to pick me up and informed me that we were going out that evening.  I had no idea what he was scheming, but I could tell it was going to be awesome.

While I was getting myself cleaned up and free from sunblock and chlorine, Adam was out running errands and getting everything set for our date.  When Adam came home to pick me up, he had the car packed with a blanket, camp chairs and a full picnic basket.  I thought I had it figured out.

But then he got on the interstate.  And then he drove for  half an hour.  This was going to be some picnic site, I figured.  He didn't stop until we reached an outdoor amphitheatre.  And what show was playing that night?  None other than The Scarlet Pimpernel!  That's right!  My adorable husband had heard an advertisement on the radio that day and thought, "Mel would love that!" and decided to make it happen.

I loved the whole experience.  We got seats in the grassy section in the back which actually seemed to have a better view than the real seats upfront.  Picnics were encouraged here and Adam had done an excellent job preparing ours which featured sub sandwiches, one of our favorites.  The show was great.  I had seen it before but Adam hadn't and I loved sharing the experience with him.  The Scarlet Pimpernel is my most favorite novel.  I always liked the fact that it starts where most novels end off.  It doesn't end with a blissful wedding.  It begins with an unhappy marriage that is transformed through the events of the plot.  I always loved how Sir Percy adored his wife, even when he couldn't tell her.  I always used to consider him the perfect, most romantic hero.  Well, that was before I met Adam.

Not all good things must end

Well, eventually we had to come back home to Utah and get settled into our new life together.  I'd say after our honeymoon ended, but it never really has ended.  So, once our Disney tickets were up, we packed our bags and headed home.  We were met at the airport by Marmee and Julie who drove us to our perfect little apartment where all of our wedding gifts were waiting for us.  Our families had taken great care to get the apartment all set up for us so it would be a home when we got there.  It was a perfect homecoming.

The next day was back to the old grindstone as we headed off to work at 7 am.  Fortunately for us, we worked at the same time for more than half of our hours so we got to spend a lot of time together, despite both working full time hours.  Life was going splendidly.  But it wasn't long before Adam decided something must be done.  He needed some wheels.

Usually we either borrowed Marmee's car while she was out of town (which was a lot that summer) or walked to work, but that was getting old and Adam really wanted a scooter.  And when one day he found just the exact scooter he wanted for sale on the Wilk Board, I knew he'd be getting it.  I was all for purchasing transportation, I just preferred the kind that can be used year-round and that I could drive, too.  (I had just recently earned my driver's license a couple weeks after we got back from our honeymoon.)

So, I could tell you all about it, but I think I'll let Adam do that.  He does such a cute job!

One day Adam took me to a parking lot and tried to teach me to drive the scooter.  It took me all of two minutes to decide I was never gonna drive it!  I mean, what is a clutch anyhow??Besides, I much preferred riding behind Adam.  I must admit, it was a pretty sweet ride.  We had a blast driving that scooter all around town.  It really turned some heads! (Or was that the awesomely hot guy driving it?  Of course it was the guy!!!)

One Magical Week

Adam outside the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall where
the princesses would all stop by and visit us at our table!

Adam and I got to spend an entire week frolicking around Disney World.  We were able to visit all the parks as well as Downtown Disney.  We had tickets to both water parks as well but we never had enough time to go!  We also got to dine every night in one of Disney's exquisite restaurants.  Adam had planned this out all in advance and made reservations for us and everything.  I felt like royalty.

At DownTown Disney outside Planet Hollywood.

One day we had reservations at Planet Hollywood for dinner.  During the day we visited the Animal Kingdom where we rode the river rapids ride and got thoroughly soaked.  I was pretty keen on going back to the hotel to change before we visited the restaurant, so Adam and I got in line for the shuttle bus and waited.  And waited.  It was getting close to our reservation time and so we decided to take a bus directly to DownTown Disney thinking my clothes might eventually dry (in Orlando.  Right...).  As soon as we got out of line for our shuttle bus, it showed up, but by this point the line was so long, we wouldn't have gotten on the shuttle.  So instead we headed to the DTD bus only to discover that there wasn't a direct shuttle!  Of course, my husband the eagle scout wasn't at all daunted by this little predicament.  He found us a shuttle to another resort and somehow managed to get us from there to downtown just in time for our reservations!  It was awesome, even if my clothes were still damp!

In front of Mount Everest, home of the Yeti.  Pre-rapids.

Just chillin', waiting on the parade.

When my family  visited Disney World when I was a kid, they generally avoided parades and special shows.  But Adam insisted that we caught every single one.  We waited eagerly for parades, we got almost front row seats for Cinderellabration, the coronation of Princess Cinderella, we attended StoryTime with Belle.  And Adam kept track of everything.  It was so sweet.  He took me everywhere a princess should go at Disney World.

Posing outside the race cars at the Magic Kingdom.

Thought we'd get a photo taken in front of our new home.
I wish!!!

Adam is so adorable!  And we had a magnificent and memorable week.  We're so grateful to Mom and Dad  Cox for making this awesome trip possible.  It was so nice to visit a place that is so special to both of us and be able to make our own memories there together.  While there we decided to make Disney a family tradition and we hoped to take our children there so they could enjoy the magic of Disney.  I hope someday we will be able to put that wish into action.

Experimental Prototype City of Tomorrow, here we come!

The next morning, a car arrived at the bed and breakfast to take us to the Salt Lake airport for our flight to Orlando.  Adam had thought of everything and  he had done it all so sneakily.  I must say, I felt pretty important, what with the chauffer carrying my luggage and opening doors for me.  :)

We arrived at the airport and proceeded to the check in counter, where I discovered that in all the wedding excitement, I had forgotten to pack my passport and therefore I was entirely without suitable ID.  And here I was trying to get on an airplane!  Well, thankfully the security still let me through after I passed a few supplemental security protocols.  That hurdle passed over, we headed to our gate to wait for our plane.  Adam left me to hold our spot in line (we were flying Southwest, old-school) while he went in pursuit of the sugary deliciousness of the nearest Cinnabon.

After a full day of flying, we arrived in Orlando where we were quickly whisked onto a bus to take us straight to our hotel.  We didn't even have to collect our baggage.  Disney was doing that for us.

The first day we headed to Epcot Center.  We had lunch reservations at the restaurant at the Land exhibit.  This was probably my very favorite of all the restaurants we visited, and that's saying something.  Thanks to Adam's wonderful and generous parents, we got to eat at so many of the awesome restaurants there.  That's something I'd never been able to do, even though I'd been to Disneyworld a million times before.

First off, it was a revolving restaurant.  Second, the round design made our table completely private, except from the occasional characters who would stop by to say hello, including Mickey Mouse!!  And third, the food was exquisite.  So good!  And our waiter was really cool.  He even took a photo for us!

The rest of the day was magical as well.  We had a wonderful time exploring the park and searching for the wall photo of Adam and his best friend Jen from when they had visited with their senior class.  I don't think we ever managed to find it.  It was the first of many wonderful, magical days.

Best Day Ever (Part 3)

After our photo shoot, Adam and I went back inside to change into our regular clothing.  Neither of us wanted to wear our wedding clothes in the car for over two hours.  (Okay, secretly I did, but my skirt would have been all wrinkled from being crammed into the car and I couldn't have that!)  By this point, the only person still with us was Chris since he was our photographer!  So we all rode home together.  We made a quick stop at my house so we could grab my luggage for the honeymoon before heading over to the church to help with reception set-up.

I really don't remember much of what went on that evening.  It completely FLEW by!  I don't even know if I helped at all.  Our family and a few wonderful friends were all there working hard to set up the decorations and food for us.  I hurried to change back into my wedding gown and came late to my own reception!  We had a wonderful time visiting with our friends and family.

Before I knew it, it was time to leave and Adam was leading me outside.  There, to my surprise, was a beautiful Cinderella carriage waiting to whisk us away.  It was perfect!  I truly felt like a princess that day.  Adam and I bid adieu to all our friends and family, boarded the carriage, and were off on our honeymoon.  We were to stay the first night at the elegant Hines Mansion Bed and Breakfast before setting off in the morning for, you guessed it, DISNEYWORLD!!!

Best Day Ever (Part 2)

Once we entered the temple, Adam and I were taken to the registrar's office to take care of some paperwork.  Afterwards, we were separated and I was ushered into the most gorgeous dressing room I had ever seen.  I wish I could have taken a picture.  It was large enough to accommodate about five brides but on this most perfect Tuesday morning I had the whole place to myself.  So, with the assistance of both my moms and one of my sisters, not to mention the occasional help of the sweet and elderly attendant, I was dressed and primped in almost no time.  (Marmee had had a fair amount of practice lacing up the dress for me.  I like to play dress up!)

Next, I was led back out of the dressing room to a table and chairs where I found Adam dressed in white, waiting for me.  The temple workers left us alone there for a few minutes while they went to attend to our guests.  Even if I could describe that moment, I wouldn't.  It is simply too precious.

After the sealing, I returned to the dressing room so Becca could again tend to my curls before we went outside for photographs.   We probably spent hours in front of the camera that day.  After the family got tired of standing around and headed back to Provo to prepare for the reception, Adam and I continued our photo shoot.  We explored the temple grounds fairly thoroughly, stopping every two steps for a kiss.  :)  What can I say?  My husband is irresistible!

The Best Day Ever (Part 1)

I got up early the next morning.  I had everything ready for the wedding so there wasn't much I had to do beyond getting myself dressed and getting to the temple, but sleeping in was not an option.  I got up, showered, ate some breakfast, and reported to my sister in order to be coiffered.

We weren't doing anything fancy, just curling my hair a little differently from my normal way.  Becca was about halfway through curling my hair when my curling iron died!  Yes, the curling iron I had used every day of high school and through four years of college died on my wedding day.  Figures!  Well, I certainly couldn't go and buy a replacement with my hair half straight and half curled, so I had to send Becca to the store in search of a new one, while I waited at home, stressing.   Thankfully, she was able to find the exact same curling iron at the nearest store and quickly resume fixing my hair.

Once my hair was ready and I was dressed in my favorite dress, Marmee and I loaded my wedding gown into her car and headed to Manti.  Adam would be riding down with his parents, of course, and the rest of our family would be following behind later.  Marmee and I had a nice ride to Manti, only managing to get lost once which gave me an excellent excuse to call Adam.  :)

Naturally, the Coxes beat us to Manti.  We had just pulled in to a parking stall when I looked in the rearview mirror and saw Adam walking across the parking lot towards the temple.  While I was watching my handsome fiance, he spotted us and changed course, heading directly for us.  All my life I believed in those wedding traditions about the groom not seeing the bride in her wedding gown before the wedding and neither of them seeing each other the morning of the ceremony.  Well, at that moment, all those ridiculous traditions flew right out the window!  I couldn't wait to be with Adam and clearly, he wasn't going to give me that option anyway.  He helped me out of the car and we walked hand and hand to the temple.

One Day More!

On Monday, May 1, 2006 Adam and his dad came to my house in the morning to collect my things and take them to our new apartment.  :)  I never even had time to go over there until after our honeymoon!  Our wonderful family took care of getting things set up for us while we were gone.  But that's jumping ahead.

That night we went to Brick Oven for our "rehearsal dinner."  Since there wasn't really anything to rehearse, we just skipped that part and went out to dinner.  Good deal, right?  Earlier that afternoon, Adam and my dad had met for the first time.  {These are the main events I can remember at the moment, but I'm sure there was a ton more going on that day.  I probably was just oblivious to it.  I was a little preoccupied!}

Yes, this picture is from before Adam and I were even engaged, but I don't have a photo that is applicable to this post, so I just thought I'd add a random snapshot that I don't think I've used before.  (That was a long sentence!!)  Sorry this post is so short but my head hurts.  I'm going to sleep...
